As the first wave of vaccine doses are distributed, high priority is on protecting the elderly, who are one of the most at risk of the virus. However, as vaccinations reach nursing home residents and staff, a concerning number of nursing home workers are refusing vaccines. In New York, nearly 32% of workers declined being vaccinated over safety concerns about the vaccine. As the vaccine continues to be distributed, fears over the vaccine's safety will hopefully be quelled as more people are safely vaccinated.
